Keep the infrastructure standing
Your server, your containers and your deployments put in order, with backups that genuinely restore and alerts that arrive in time.
Deployments without surprises
The problem it solves
Infrastructure works until it does not. There is usually a machine nobody dares touch, a set of backups that has never been restored, and a deployment only one person knows how to run.
What I do
I review what is there and leave it in a state that holds: reproducible deployments, configuration in the repository instead of in somebody’s head, backups tested by actually restoring them, monitoring that warns you before a customer notices, and basic hardening of whatever faces the internet.
Whatever gets built is documented for your team, with the access in your name.
How it is measured
Recovery time proven by a real restore, the number of manual steps left in a deployment, and how many people on the team can run it. Three figures you can look at on day one and again three months later.
What I need from you
Administrative access to the environment, and to know what can be stopped and when.
